Bringing some holiday cheer (and snow!) to your videos

Christmas is a mere two weeks away and for those of you who have yet to finish your shopping (ahem), I feel your stress. To add a bit of comic relief to your day, take a moment to play around with this nifty app that lets you add fun effects to your videos.

Using the Cartoonatic Christmas app you can record video and apply animated effects and holiday music, adding instant fun and festivity to your everyday clips. Once you're in the app, you can tap on the screen to add one of 10 different filters. I also like that you can touch the "Snow" icon to instantly add a winter wonderland-esque feeling to your video. 

On top of changing the look and feel, you can add soundtracks either from your own music library or from the nine preset options (yes, there are Christmas jingles included). And of course, once you've finished your festive video, you can share directly from the app to your social networks. 

What a cool thing to be able to forward to relatives on Christmas day.

Please note that if you want to add these cartoon effects to existing videos that you have, you can shell out the extra $0.99 to upgrade to Cartoonatic Premium as an in-app purchase. But you may find there are enough options to play around with in the free version for you, so start with that one first. -Jeana
