Ever since he was a little guy, my six year old has been obsessed with maps, so it was a no-brainer that I'd look for fun apps that capitalize (ha, get it?) on his obsession. The main premise of the fun educational app Stack the States is pretty basic: answer questions like Which state has the nickname "The Buckeye State"? by choosing among four states. Get a correct answer, and your state drops down. The goal is to stack your states until your tower crosses the finish line, allowing you to unlock other games.

I bought this app for my daughter immediately after reading this review -- she gives it an A+! :-) Thanks for the recommendation.
My son LOVES this game. So cute and fun- it goes beyond a simple quiz game.
Me again....we've officially had this app for 12+ hours and my daughter just can't put it down. What a great educational game! Are others from this guy just as engaging as this one?
Hi Barbara, I recently purchased Stack the Countries which is similar to Stack the States but I find to be really hard when you move to other continents/countries! If she wants a challenge, this is it, though I found it to be tough for my 6 & 8 yo's (me too!).
And, I downloaded Rocket Math yesterday and all three of my kids love it already (and they typically RUN from anything that smells too "educational"). I'm going to play around with it myself this weekend and you may see a full review here in a week or so. But, for now, two thumbs up.
