Cupcake making without cavity making

To say my girls are obsessed with the range of cake, cupcake, Jell-O mold, and cookie making/decorating iPhone apps out there is an understatement. It's like the EZ-Bake Ovens of the smartphone era: So fun for kids, it doesn't even matter whether they eat the results in the end.

 

Maverick Software has created such a runaway hit with their original Cupcakes! app that they've just rolled out a new Cupcakes! Holiday Edition app so kids can create the caloric treats of their sugar-addled dreams.

Pick cake batter flavors like Pumpkin Pie and Gingerbread, bake, add holiday themed liners, frost, then decorate with more than 80 toppings that cover the Halloween-Thanksgiving-Christmas gamut. Although of course my three year-old's favorite part isn't about rainbow sprinkles or gummy bats at all--it's shaking the phone to "loosen" the cupcakes from the pan. Then emailing the final results to Grandma. (Let's just say Grandma gets a lot of cupcake emails.)
